nearly 1,502 pictures from 52 countries were submitted between 1 and 23 October to be put to the jury. Composed of seven people from the media and naturalistic photography, this jury thus had the "heavy" task of separating the candidates based on the humorous side of their pictures.
"it was difficult to choose from all the magnificent photos," Paul Joynson-Hicks, founder of the award and photographer said in a statement. "We have achieved a technically perfect and funny selection."
